What is SEM – Search Engine Marketing?
SEM (Search Engine Marketing) is a form of internet marketing or oline marketing that advertises websites by increasing their visibility on search engines through the use of PPC (Price Per Click)/CPC (Cost Per Click) and CPM (Cost Per 1000 Impressions or Views)/PPM (Price Per 1000 Impressions).
This form of online advertising is probably the best medium for getting your products and services around the web.
Google Adwords Paid Placements
Paid placements can be found in three areas:
- Google Search – Paid Placements that appear in Google’s Search Results
- Google Content Network – AdSense Subscribers (Affiliate advertising on websites)
- Google Search Partners – Other search engines that display Google Ads
There are also two payment options:
- CPC (Cost Per Click) or PPC (Price Per Click) – You only pay when an advertisement is clicked on.
- CPM (Cost Per Impression) or PPM (Price Per Impression) – You pay per 1000 Page Impressions (i.e. Advertisement views)
